Corporate Social Responsibility
We are committed to the world around us, that is why we often collaborate with the “Down Syndrome and other disabilities foundations of the Basque Country”.
We respect all Lifestyles
We are official supporters of the UN Standards of Conduct for Business Tackling Discrimination against LGBTQ+ People (List of Supporters).
We are friends of the LGBTQ+ community and we have incorporated this diversity into our equality plan and business strategy, including the recognition of trans people according to the information regulated in Decree 234/2015 of the Basque Government.
Based on the inviolability of Fundamental Rights, the right to equality, the right to privacy and the right to physical and moral integrity of all people and on Basic Labor Rights, we have implemented a protocol of non-discrimination based on orientation and/or identity and a protocol for the management and investigation of conflicts, workplace harassment, sexual harassment and any harassment based on sex, and violence at work.
We assert positive treatment of all employees including favorable pay and benefits, including fair employment consideration for all individuals regardless of personal differences.
The Hotel Miró is convinced of the importance of caring for and respecting the environment and the resources it provides. We are aware of the resources we use and careful with the waste we return to the ecosystem. Personal development is important to us, just as it is to our employees and guests.
Our breakfast has a menu of local products, traceability, and immediacy in distribution; the Km0 water of the hotel comes from the local network and goes through a micro-filtering process before being bottled in 100% recyclable glass; the amenities are Mandarin & Clary Sage by Molton Brown, with which single-dose are eliminated to reduce the impact of single-use plastics.
We contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and Hotel Miró has been awarded with the “Towards a low carbon strategy in Bilbao” award, for its reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and for its commitment to environmental sustainability, promoted by the Bilbao City Council through the municipal company Bilbao Ekintza.
